FAQs

Why should I become a mentor?

Mentorship is essential to community development and leadership. By becoming a mentor, you are investing in the community while achieving your personal goals such as:

— Learning more about your community and profession

— Gain a fresh perspective on new ideas

— Developing emotional intelligence

— Changing someone's world by sharing valuable expert knowledge

How can I be assigned to a mentor?

All candidates who are approved for funding from WFI will be required to work with a mentor. WFI mentorship is not a stand-alone program. We believe the We Study and We Business Grants to be strategic investments to be nurtured by proper mentorship to maximize success and provide an ROI to the students and entrepreneurs in the WFI community.

Why do I need a mentor?

Pairing funding and mentorship increase the chance for success. A mentor provides students and entrepreneurs with the relevant experience and knowledge to aid in professional as well as personal development.

Who can apply?

All mentors must:

— be 18 years and older,

— have a post-secondary diploma
